Section 7: ASSIGN ID SCREENS

Having first determined through the Name Search Function that the individual does not currently have an NFA ID number the firm must assign an NFA ID number to that individual. This can be done by any user with View and Update, View, Update and File or Security Manager access.

To assign an NFA ID number, the user types in the individual's first and middle name on the first line, the last name and suffix (i.e. Jr, II) on the second line and the social security number. These are all required fields on this screen.

Foreign individuals who do not have social security numbers must contact NFA. NFA staff will assign an NFA ID number for these individuals.

Once the required information has been entered correctly, click the assign NFA ID button.

This screen will display when the user has successfully assigned a new NFA ID number. From here the user can either begin an application for that individual or assign an NFA ID number for another individual.
